(Prov 22:6 KJV) Train up a child in the
way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
No where in this scripture does it say 'train up a child when he/she is 5 or kindergarten ready. Really look at it we are teaching and training our kids something everyday from birth. We just don't call it "School" and because I do I am criticized and my methods are questioned.
I'm gonna even take a different route with this post now...so hold on! I truly believe ALL kids have the ability to have a REAL relationship with the LORD! They CAN have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, God CAN use them for miracles, signs and wonders! They just have to be taught more than just bible stories and memorization of scriptures. Please don't take that the wrong way Bible stories are important but that is not all we should teach we should show them how to Worship, Pray, Believe, Trust, Give, Hear the voice of God, walk in the gifts of the Spirit, and allow God to guide them. Kids CAN have even a deeper relationship with God than Most adults because they are not veiled and covered with a bunch of trash and selfishness.
Normally about this time of year I get discouraged and frustrated and have feelings of doubt about if I am doing the right thing by homeschooling and ya know what, this year I am finally free I don't have any of that anymore. I see the fruit of teaching them at home with the lead and guidance of HOLY SPIRIT. It's no longer about what ya know it's about WHO ya know, Glory to God!! They are now SPIRIT led children not WORLD led and If I had it to do all over again I would call it "School" from birth. School of the Spirit! I love it and God is so good in it!!
Our plans for this school year are still up in the air. We are truly led day by day by day by the cloud and night by night by night by the Fire of God as we keep moving toward the Land of Promise. We will keep our eyes fixed on HIM forever. Glory!! Whom the son sets free is free indeed!! (John 8:36)
GOD IS FIRST AT KINGDOM FIRST HOMESCHOOL!!

Great post! You are right...we are teaching our children from the beginning. How to sit, walk, eat, talk...etc. I haven't had too many negative reactions yet to our decision, since we just made it and not too many people know, but I am bracing myself because I know some VERY opinionated people! :)
ReplyDeleteHowever, I am so very blessed to be starting this journey! What an exciting time this is going to be!
