Preschool Wrap-up-Valentine's Day

We had our Valentines day activities this week and we had a blast.  Valentines day is kind of a big deal for us.  We love it because it is all about LOVE!!  We love to love our little ladies,  even though we don't have a lot of money to get them extravagant gifts, God is the most extravagant God who has given us real love and joy to give to our children...What a blessing!!

Jada made her own paper doll this week, I found it here.  She colored her and her clothes we cut them out and started to play! Well they didn't like the fact that the clothes did not stay put and you couldn't really stand the dolls up and play with them, so I laminated and put velcro on all the little accessories to surprise them and they were super excited to see them and have been playing with them ever since.  It is crazy how such a small thing can bring such great joy!!

She worked on this see, trace and make the word heart from Musings of me Valentine's unit.

She made this Tissue paper heart, Cut tissue paper in small squares and put glue and water mix in a small bowl and gave her a paint brush to brush the glue mixture on.  She really enjoys anything like this...She LOVES to create.

She learned how to cut out her own heart....

We played Valentine's Bingo with the numbers 11-18.

Rock star moment....=)

Playing with her little sisters...this is called PILLOW MOUNTAIN I was told:)

Played in her tunnel....

I started reading corner time for her she has about 10 minutes of alone time to read...

Her and her little sister made some Valentine's day playdoh cookies....

Again very proud of her creation...

Traced the numbers 10-20 throughout the week from the earlier mentioned Valentine's Day Unit from Musings of Me.

Here are the famous paper dolls in action up in their playhouse which was so graciously given to us by my sister....They have a great time playing and imagining in this dollhouse:o) (Thanks Aunt Anne)

Jada worked on telling time.  This is only the 3rd time we have even discussed time.  I really need to add it in every week!  Oh and the flashcards and clock I found in the Target $1 section last summer.

This is a really cool game out of the Musings of Me Valentine's unit.  This comes with 10 mailboxes and a ton of addition questions in the form of mail or a valentine along with 10 birdies with the numbers 1-10 on them..  She added the questions with sums of 10 or lower then found the bird with the answer and brought the bird and the mail to the correct mailbox which also has the numbers 1-10 on them.  This was a huge hit...We will probably use this for more than just Valentine's day!

She measured this heart with M&Ms....

Well this was truly a fun week!  We had our 3rd annual Valentines day treasure hunt the Saturday before Valentines day and here a few pics from that... I wrote a different 'what am I?' or 'who am I?' clue on each heart.  The pics aren't the best pictures I've taken because of low battery and fast speed of activity.  Here is the real deal folks.....This was the beginning and it led to...

The diaper bag, which led to...

The toothpaste, which led to...

The Charlie Brown movie, which led to...

Jasmine's tot trays, which led to...

There dollhouse, then for the grand finale....

In my closet covered and hidden under a ton of sweatshirts (just to be safe).

They then took their treasure downstairs and enjoyed opening their gifts which was a few things from the dollar store...what fun they had.  We played some games and played with new toys all day!!

Well that is all our Valentine's day fun....Thanks for stopping by to see what Jada has been up to.  Be blessed and be sure to check us out again!!

  1. What a great week! It looks like they loved the treasure hunt! What I have learned is its a lot about the memory than the gift.. they will remember how much fun they had looking for the gifts :-)

  3. You had a great week filled with fun activities and love but what I like most about this post is that you reminded us all the God is the best gift and giver of love! Kerri

  4. I've been thinking about addressing time with my little guy, too. We've read a book that includes clock hands, and he really gets a kick out of it. I'll have to check for the flash cards. Don't ya just LOVE Target's dollar section?!
