This was our 1st week of CHRISTmas activities and we have been having a lot of fun, fun, fun!!! My kids are growing into bold ambassadors of Christ! Everyday they just amaze me with their growth both, in spirit and in knowledge.
This week we focused on the story of how Jesus came into this world and why. I really wanted them to understand that God gave us the greatest gift we will ever receive!
I didn't plan a whole lot for lack of time, but I have been doing the plan day by day thing which is very challenging, but it has worked out ok so far:)
This is a picture Jada drew last week but I wanted to share it cause I thought it was so cute. She is a huge Charlie Brown fan.
In this picture: Peppermint Patty, Linus, Schroeder and his piano, a flower, Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Lucy.
I was asked to do a review of Time4Learning in exchange for 30 days free so we are adding that in for a month. Be sure to look for my first review coming sometime in January:-)
I had some pine needles to use from our Christmas tree, so my plan was to make Christmas wreaths, but Jada wanted to draw Charlie Brown so I turned the idea into a Christmas wreath frame for whatever picture you want to draw. Jasmine drew a smiley face:)
Jada drew Charlie Brown....of course!
I made this Jumbo craft stick magnet puzzle I found here. The picture she used was a pumpkin I found a gingerbread man. (click songs for Christmas to find this pattern)
Born in a manger craft- This was a big hit...it comes with 2 printables-the manger, and baby Jesus. we colored the manger first then glued sandpaper to represent straw, next we colored and cut out Jesus, then I cut a small piece of white cloth for the blanket and had them decorate Jesus' blanket with markers. Jasmine didn't want to glue baby Jesus on cause she wanted to hold and play with Him, so I laminated Jesus and stapled the cloth to the paper leaving an opening at the top so they could take Him in and out. They were so cute singing Him lullabies and kissing Him good night. It was so sweeeet!!!
Christmas abc trees that I found over at 1+1+1=1 and she found them here which is where you will find the printables for these. When I first saw these I was bummed cause they said to use bingo chips and I only had blue and red no yellow, but then I saw Carisa using these foam blocks I already owned so then I printed a set:) Jasmine really liked doing this, she did like 4 times....Yay!
Jada did this Nativity trace and color which she loved!!
Jasmine worked on putting her letter C ornaments on this cute letter sorting mat.
Just because I wanted you to see my beautiful tree:-)
Castle building: Jada only uses the red and orange blocks, she put stickers and jewelry on hers also. Jasmine just likes to see how big and tall she can build it! And Jordan this little blanket just doesn't contain her anymore....she gets where she wants to go now not by crawling or scooting she barrel rolls till she gets there! She is growing up so fast...sigh!
Jasmine coloring her Christmas tree...I guess I should turn the heat up a little! LOL!
Since gymnastics class came to an end(sigh) a couple weeks ago...the girls have now been pretending to have class anyway:-) Here Jada is miss Andy the instructor and Jasmine in using one of my throw pillows as a carpet square for their warm ups! They go through the whole class from start to finish....So Fun!
Since talking about Mary and baby Jesus this week, Jada has now became Mary, this is her best friend Blanky on her head.
This is Jasmine as baby Jesus...Ha!
They had fun decorating these Jesus ornaments!
Huh...She sure looks guilty!
These are unrelated to Christmas but I wanted to share them anyway...This is duck counting. I used my ducks from our lucky ducks game, a shallow dish filled with water and I made a foam die. Jasmine counts the dots and picks out that number of ducks. To make it challenging for Jada she rolls the die twice and adds the two numbers together. They could play this game forever!
This is something I created last year and going through my math folder I ran into it..... so I had Jasmine fill in the pattern. If you can't tell from the pic, I drew a simple pattern of red and blue and had her fill in the blanks with red or blue bingo chips
Well that's it for now stop back next week to see what other Christmas fun stuff we did! Be Blessed!!
Find out what other preschoolers and toddlers are doing, head on over to 1+1+1=1 or Homeschool Creations and get some great ideas or share yours.
